"Sam Govender we salute you!"
That was on the sign outside Govender's Curry Kitchen when they won runner up in the first Bunny Chow Barometer competition.
We started this up with Coca-Cola in 2004 to find the top 10 bunny chows in Durban. Govender's, as with their bunnies, took it VERY seriously. I still remember judging that year and when their bunny did the rounds I just wanted more!
This is another institution in Durban and many people will travel across town to sit in the slightly kitsch but clean diningroom and take on a quarter mutton. I think if you want a pretty big bunny then try out Govender's Curry Kitchen. It's also tasty and hot enough to give you something to think about on the weekend too. Not the cheapest bunny in town but in my books one of the best.
